Family Snowmobile safari 1H
Family snowmobile safari 1H
Enjoy a family snowmobile safari designed for families who want to experience the Arctic together in a small group, with professional guides and a more personal approach.
At SnowRide Lapland, we keep our groups small, with a maximum of 8 guests. Unlike large operators that run massive groups and have to work to a very tight schedule, our small-group format allows our guides to focus on the family in front of them, adapt the pace to the children and make sure everyone enjoys the experience.
If your group has 8 or more participants, we organise the safari as a private tour with your own guide at no extra cost.
Your adventure starts at our office in Rovaniemi, or we can pick you up directly from your accommodation. We offer pick-up and drop-off from all hotels and accommodations within 15 km of Rovaniemi city centre, including hotels, Airbnb apartments, Booking.com accommodations and other holiday rentals.
At our office, we provide all the winter equipment you need, including high-quality thermal overalls, winter boots, gloves, helmet and balaclava. Once everyone is ready, we head to our snowmobile base, where you will ride our newest-generation snowmobiles.
Before setting off, our professional guides will explain everything you need to know about driving and safety. Our guides have several years of real experience leading snowmobile tours in Lapland, and they will make sure you feel comfortable and confident before starting the ride.
No previous snowmobile experience is required.
Children under 140 cm travel safely in our unique heated children's sleigh, pulled by the guide's snowmobile. The sleigh is specially designed to keep children warm and comfortable throughout the safari, even on very cold winter days. This means parents can enjoy driving the snowmobiles while knowing that the little ones are warm, comfortable and safely looked after.
Children over 140 cm can travel as passengers on a snowmobile behind an adult driver, subject to availability and the child's ability to hold on safely. In this case, the child is charged the adult price.
The standard option is twin driving, with two people sharing one snowmobile and the possibility to take turns driving. Solo driving is also available as an additional option.
Once everyone is ready, the adventure begins. You will ride for approximately 1 to 1 hour 15 minutes, depending on the pace and driving skills of the group. We ride through snowy Arctic forests and open winter landscapes, with stops along the way to take photos, enjoy the scenery and experience the beauty of Lapland.
We don't rush from one stop to the next. Unlike large tours that have to follow a very tight schedule, we can adapt the route and pace to the group. If everyone is comfortable and enjoying the experience, we can often spend a little longer on the trails.
After the safari, we return to our office to return the equipment. If you have chosen pick-up and drop-off, we can then take you back to your accommodation or another suitable location within our pick-up area.
